Private Insurance Checklist

Smart Physio Practice operates as a private practice providing treatment for self-paying patients as well as patients with private health insurance.

If you are looking to claim the cost of your physiotherapy treatment from your insurance company, here is a list of what you need to do:

  • Check policy treatment coverage;

  • Check policy excess;

  • Check the date of the year-end of the policy;

  • Call your insurance company and explain your condition;

  • Write down the date, time, and name of the person to whom you spoke;

  • Obtain an authorisation or a claim number for your treatment; and

  • Call us or book an appointment online

The details of each insurance policy differ, so whilst this is general guidance, you will need to check the details for yourself.
